“Love and presence are about finding joy in this work. It’s the best reason for doing it.”
Ron Kurtz
What is Hakomi?
Hakomi is a body-centered, mindfulness-based psychotherapy that utilizes mindfulness and the body's wisdom to access and transform unconscious beliefs and memories.
It emphasizes a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to self-discovery, using simple, experiential exercises to help clients understand their internal world and heal from attachment wounding and developmental trauma.
Originally created by Ron Kurtz, Hakomi now integrates his methodology with the latest advances in traumatology, neuroscience, and diversity and equity to create a safe space for profound healing and growing self-awareness.

As a faculty we are passionate about our own growth and development as a team. We continue to update our curriculum and practices to increase accessibility and inclusion for people in marginalized communities. We also focus on integrating new learning in the fields of neuroscience, attachment theory, cultural impacts on identity, and trauma recovery
We are committed to…
“Tracking is noticing all the little things that go on while someone is talking, especially the things that aren’t being talked about. It is knowing how to read these as clues to the speakers present experience and meanings . . . The therapist has this two-fold task: to be in the world of the client, in all the usual ways, and at the same times, to be outside that world, able to see it from a wider perspective.
